The Nicollet County Historical Society invites the public to celebrate Bob Sandeen’s 25 years of service during a drop-in celebration on Friday, June 12, at the Treaty Site History Center.
The event will honor Sandeen’s longtime dedication to preserving and sharing Nicollet County history. Guests are welcome to stop by as they are able for treats, stories, and a special recognition of Sandeen’s contributions to NCHS.
Sandeen began his work with the Nicollet County Historical Society on June 13, 2001, as Research Coordinator. Over the past 25 years, he has cared for the Society’s archival collection, taken in thousands of artifacts, and helped countless researchers, visitors, students, and community members discover local history through photographs, maps, manuscripts, and other archival materials. Since his retirement in 2016, Sandeen has continued to support NCHS daily, assisting with research inquiries and helping care for the organization’s archival collections.
In recognition of his extraordinary service and stewardship, the NCHS Board of Directors has named the archives storage room The Bob Sandeen Archives.
The celebration will take place from 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Treaty Site History Center, 1851 N. Minnesota Ave, Saint Peter, MN. RSVPs are appreciated, but not required, and drop-ins are welcome. No gifts, please, bring Bob stories and well wishes.
