Volunteer with NCHS
Volunteers help keep local history accessible to the community. At the Nicollet County Historical Society, volunteers welcome visitors, support programs and events, assist with research, help care for collections, serve on committees, and lend a hand with projects throughout the year.
Whether you enjoy working with people, helping behind the scenes, learning something new, or sharing skills you already have, there may be a volunteer opportunity that fits your interests.
Current Volunteer Need
History Center Greeter
Greeters welcome visitors, handle admissions and gift shop sales, answer phones, respond to basic questions, and help keep the lobby and gift shop tidy. Greeter shifts are two hours and take place Tuesday through Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Volunteer greeters are asked to choose a regular weekly shift when possible. Backup greeters are also welcome. Training is provided, and you do not need to know a lot about history.
