Come garden with us! Over the past two years, we've worked to revamp and renew the backyard at the Cox House. We're in the final steps, and you're invited to help us across the finish line. On Saturday, June 4, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, we're installing our new prairie garden with plants generously donated by John & Katha Chamberlain. Genevieve Brand from Seed to Site will guide volunteers through planting, as well as labeling, watering, and mulching. Tools will be provided, but please bring your gloves.
Join us for the Cox House Museum Open House on Saturday, June 4, 2022, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. We’re celebrating our grand reopening after two long years of being closed. Step back in time and immerse yourself in Victorian life on the prairie as you enjoy a come-and-go outing to the Cox family home. Meet Cox House Manager Kate Roberts, who will be present to answer your questions.
Enjoy this outdoor event with family and friends. Strawberry delights will be served and historic children's games to be enjoyed by all.
Come with the family, bring a picnic lunch, and dine on the grounds. Enjoy music and a special appearance by Pres. Abraham Lincoln. A FREE event from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, July 9th.
Visit with the blacksmith, flax spinner, quilter, and more during this event celebrating the crafts and skills of our ancestors.
