Invest in local history!

Nicollet County has been a gateway and a gathering place for over 9,000 years. It is the place where the big woods, tallgrass prairie, and Minnesota River come together. Today people from all over the world – from students to recent immigrants, to urbanites continue to gather here and call Nicollet County home. We collect and share their stories because what happens here matters.

For over 90 years the Nicollet County Historical Society has dedicated its heart and soul to the preservation, protection, and public education about Nicollet County and Minnesota History. NCHS operates the Treaty Site History Center and E. St. Julien Cox House in Saint Peter, Minnesota. Each year the Society serves thousands of visitors through its sites, programs, outreach, archives, and services.

It is only through the generosity and commitment of friends such as you that the Nicollet County Historical Society is able to fulfill its mission to preserve, protect, and share the natural and cultural history of Nicollet County for future learners.

Help us continue our mission to preserve, protect, and share our history!
