Celebrate the Vote!

September 19 @ 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Event poster with “Celebrate the Vote!” in bold text, date and time details, a “Votes for All” button, a hand placing a ballot in a box, and a historical photo of women suffrage activists holding signs.

Drop in for an afternoon celebrating the 19th Amendment, local voting history, and the people who continue to make democracy work.

Explore the suffrage exhibit before it closes and discover the story of Lillien Cox Gault, a local civic leader who encouraged and helped women register and vote, and worked to build their confidence and participation in civic life.

During the afternoon, visitors can:

  • Explore the Cox House and suffrage exhibit
  • Historical re-enactments at 2 and 3
  • Pose for photographs in a historic hat or suffrage sash
  • Make a voting button
  • Find nonpartisan local voting information
  • Enjoy cake and lemonade on the lawn

First-time voters, future voters, experienced voters, families, and community members of all ages are welcome. Come celebrate how far voting rights have come and the role each generation plays in carrying them forward.
